All one need to do is just send an email to post everything in your blog and Posterous will do the rest. To start using the service just send an email to post@posterous.com and Posterous will create an account for you using your email and will reply back with a new address for your blog. Going forward all the posts made from your email address will be posted on your blog at Posterous. Posterous will be an ideal service for people who travel a lot to create posts on the fly using their iPhones or other mobile phones with ease. Just click a snap using your mobile and post it immediately with comments to your blog using Posterous.

Posterous-index What makes this Posterous very simple is, there are no service sign-ups and no bugging WYSIWYG online editors. One can attach any type of file in the email and Posterous will post it by appropriately embedding the same into your post. Posterous can even embed a mp3 music file attached to the email into a web music player and publish it to your blog. It can also recognize all video URLs from from popular sites like YouTube, Google Video, Justin.TV, Fliggo, Vimeo etc by embedding them into your post nicely. If you attach one photo a bigger size then Posterous will resize it to a web-friendly size and post it to your blog. If you attach multiple photos with the email, we automatically create a good looking image gallery. So one can even blog using their mobile while traveling.  Some feel Posterous is very insecure and Posterous has got answer to that,

“Email can easily be spoofed, but Posterous has come up with some ways to figure out if the email we receive comes from you. If we think it might not be you, we ask you to confirm the email before we post it. No matter what, you always get an email notification of every post we put online for your blog, with an easy link to remove the post if you didn’t do it. And remember, if you’re running into problems with people abusing your account, help is just one email away. “

Posterous is a free service and is planning to introduce a premium service soon and you will get 1GB space for free sign-ups. By default Posterous creates the address (URL) for your blog from your email address and it will not be quite nice as it is auto-generated. If you want to cool address just register online only once to get an attractive URL and then you can continue your posting to your blog through email using your mobile phone. Posterous has now got facility to post in your twitter, flickr and blogs running wordpress, blogger etc by setting up the account with Posterous. You can explore the rest by creating one for you.
