Control name search with Google Profiles

google profiles Search Engine giant Google has now started rolling out the integration of Google Profiles into the search results and is giving the users the ability and flexibility to tailor what shows up when their name is searched for. Google has already rolled out the profile search results in U.S. at the bottom of name-query search pages. Google is now in the process of rolling out for other countries and Google Profile results have already started popping up in few countries including Germany.

Spam increases our Environment green woes

McAfee Spam Protection Not only the spam mails clogs our email inbox it also damages the environment with carbon dioxide emission reports McAfee. The report is the result of research done by McAfee and ICF says the energy spent over for filtering out the spam can be used to power 2.4 million homes. The report also says the emissions generated each year are equivalent to the output of 3.1 million passenger cars using 2 billion gallons of gasoline which proves to be a quite costly job.

Indian languages now available from Gmail

hindi email Google today has officially announced a new feature in Gmail which makes it easy to type email in Indian languages which includes Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. This new feature allows the users to type words the way they sound in English and Gmail will automatically convert the word to its Indian local language equivalent.

Conficker C variant set to strike on April Fool’s day

Conficket Internet Worm Conficker became famous last year by exploiting the loop holes in the Windows operating system and I wrote a article sometime back in January about Conficker Internet Worm. Security experts around the world has warned that Conficker worm could strike on April 1st, the Fool’s day at all the infected computers. The recent released variant called W32.Downadup.C with increased strengths is set to infect large number of systems across the world and experts has already started taking precautions. The first two variants of the Conficker worm have done enough damage infecting lot of computers across the world before being controlled. The funny thing about the new C variant is, nobody knows what the new Conficker.c is programmed to do.
