Microsoft is also expected to release Windows XP Mode, a compatibility tool to help users migrating from XP to Windows 7 with this release. Australian users can download Windows 7 RC from today and can use it free for a year. Windows 7 RC incorporates all the bug fixes  and feedbacks from the Windows 7  beta which was released sometime back.

Hackers target Xbox Live players using DDos

Xbox Live Xbox live, online multiplayer gaming by Microsoft is now the target of hackers where Xbox live users appears to be taken out by the hackers applying DDos(distributed denial-of-service attack). Even Hackers started selling Xbox Live attack services and booting services  to others through internet for as little as $20. Microsoft is currently investigating the scenario though it is very tricky to track down the attack by finding players who are getting booted off.

Internet Explorer 8 comes out of beta

Microsoft claims Internet Explorer 8 has come up with some new innovative features which makes browsing experience faster, easier, and safer. Today Microsoft made it official and released IE8 Release Candidate1 in 25 languages and made it available Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server and with the binary Mac missing. Conficker worm raises concerns

computer-worm Conficker is a well known computer worm emerged last October created a big threat among the Windows users. Conficker is also known as Downup, Downandup and Kido now started replicating in an avalanche infecting 3 million PCs 2 weeks ago in its new Avatar. The worm takes advantage of Remote Code Execution exploit with Microsoft Windows operating system and using the infected machine it downloads and installs Malwares from an anonymous server paving way for hackers to exploit. Windows XP and older versions of Windows operating system are the most riskier operating system and users are advised to install the related patch from Microsoft ASAP.

Microsoft still unable to keep their servers up

windows-server Microsoft released Windows 7 beta yesterday and pulled it off after mid-day failing to keep the servers up with the increase in the web traffic to their download site. Microsoft published the story in their Windows Team blog and faced hell a lot of criticism from yesterday. Windows 7 beta download for 32bit and 64 bit systems are fine today but Microsoft is still unable to keep their servers up even after a day. Windows 7 Beta Customer Preview is still down and the users are unable to access.
