Google in the news again! Here we go, Google adds one more addition to Google’s instant messenger today. Following the Google Talk Gadget release last year in 2007 that now features mostly in your iGoogle page now Google has announced Google talk labs just days back. Yea I know I am penning down bit late but I still want to appreciate each and every work of Google being a big fan. At the same time I am feeling bit weird by this new added addition because Google talk still has not be completed lacking lot of features possessed by leading messaging client in the industry and still Gtalk version of MAC has not yet been released.

Can you believe that you can compress a music file 1000 times smaller than mp3? Rochester university says ‘yes’ you can do it. Researchers from Rochester university which is one of the recognized private University in New York are able to reproduce and compress a music file nearly 1000 times smaller than the original one. They are able to encode a 20 second clarinet solo music to a molecular size of 1kb recreating in a computer both the real-world physics of a clarinet and the physics of a clarinet player. The achievement was disclosed on April 1st at International Conference on Signal Processing and Acoustics speech at Las Vegas.

Zoho from AdventNet Inc is one of the powerful online word processing software and office suite that exists in the market now. Zoho is based on the Google Gears framework pioneered by Google. Google docs also follows the same Google Gears framework which is scalable and standardized. Unlike Google docs, Zoho is a complete office suite and offers wide range of functionalities like CRM, project management, wikis, note-taking, databases, spreadsheet, word processing etc. Zoho Writer has got offline editing like Goolge docs but introduced way before than Google.

Yahoo Inc officially confirmed on March 25th that it is gonna join hands with Google in nurturing the social network applications including photo sharing network. Open Social is nothing but set of API’s (Application Programming Interfaces) developed by Google initially, to bring in a common coding standard for web applications so that application works evenly and inter operable across the world wide web. All web applications implementing this framework API’s will be inter operable with social networks like Orkut, MySpace and Friendster.
