online collaboration With friends and business spread out in the real world, collaborating online is very important and there are lot of tools available online. Some of the famous free online collaboration tools are Cozi, Stixy which helps users to share document, pictures, appointments with family, friends and to collaborate online. But I didn’t find any tool for online collaborative debugging other than Pastebin. Pastebin helps you to collaborate on debugging code snippets with syntax highlighting for almost all the famous scripting and programming languages.

pastebin-shot Pastebin is a free and innovative collaborative debugging tool where you can go and paste your code or any text and get a URL which you can share it with your friends in IM, email or by any means. Sometimes while collaborating online IM will not allow you to share and paste text above certain number of lines and Pastebin will help you to get through those scenarios by providing you an simple URL. You friends can modify or correct the code or text you have pasted submitting back with the modification. Pastebin also allows you to download the shared code in the form of a text file and gives the user option to save the file for 1 day or 30 days or forever.

pastebin-firefox Pastebin makes the collaboration more effective by allowing the users to create private pastebin as a sub-domain. eg) http://testspace.pastebin.com making it easy for you to collaborate without the ‘noise’ of the regular service. One cannot call it as real private as it is not password protected and anyone who knows the the domain name can access everything. The prime purpose of sub-domain is mainly to keep you out of the public noise. If you don’t want to share a post any more you can go ahead and delete that one and there are options to do that. There is also a Firefox plug-in for pastebin which makes this job a real quick. Developers can have maximum fun.
