Control name search with Google Profiles

google profiles Search Engine giant Google has now started rolling out the integration of Google Profiles into the search results and is giving the users the ability and flexibility to tailor what shows up when their name is searched for. Google has already rolled out the profile search results in U.S. at the bottom of name-query search pages. Google is now in the process of rolling out for other countries and Google Profile results have already started popping up in few countries including Germany.

Profiles Don’t have a Google profile? Just search for [me] and follow the instructions at the top of the page to create one. You can see the Google advertising its profile services as part of Google promotion in the search results. If you cannot find one then you will find it soon once it has been rolled out for your country. Read the post from Official Google Blog about profiles. Google profiles contain basic information and pictures that user want to share. When a search is made Google matches the search with Google Profile and will display the profile at the bottom of the search page. To make your profile part of search results go to your profiles page settings to create or edit your profile. For people with common names, only four profiles are displayed at once. More information entered in your profile, the better the chance it will get displayed. Lot of people has warned that this new application gives Google more control over the information of the web which are highly sensitive and personal.
