Locate your friends with Google Latitude
Often it is difficult to find the location of our friends and family members and what they are doing at the moment. We might have seen people worrying about their children, spouse, parents etc as there are no easy to ways to do that. Google Latitude a new feature for Google Maps on your mobile device helps one to find the approximate location of your friends and loved ones who have decided to share their location with you. With Google Latitude one can locate your friends’ locations in a map and share yours with them with ease and can also keep in touch with them directly through Google Talk or Gmail.
Google Latitude is available in 27 countries and and comes in two flavors one for your mobile Smartphone and another one as iGoogle gadget. iGoogle gadget requires Google Gears installed in your browser to share your location right from your computer in case if you don’t have a smartphone. Latitude supports popular smartphones like Android, Blackberry, Symbian S60, and Windows Mobile. Support for iPhone is expected soon. Google Talk is also integrated with Latitude so that you can share your status messages with your friends and can also call, SMS, IM, or email each other within the application. Google Latitude has got pretty good privacy and you can always choose to reveal your location to your friends or family and it is completely up to the user to decide it.
