Google Phone released in Australia

Google-Phone Google phone, based on Android operating system  is considered as the only competitive rival to iPhone is released today in Australia. Android is the most celebrated open source Linux based operating system by Google that has got good support in the open source community. Optus is the supplier in Australia who sells HTC Dream mobiles with Android operating system which is the first Android based smart phone in Australia.

HTC Dream comes with a variety of Google Apps like Google Maps, YouTube, Gmail and Google Search, which makes internet access very easy. Google recently announced that it will allow developers to sell applications for its Android mobile phone operating system to expand their market. This will lead to lot of Android programs available via Android market place which gives a heavy challenge to iPhone applications. But from my personal point of view Google phone is not as really attractive as iPhone and it does have lot of drawbacks right from usability to some features which are quite annoying. Definitely Android is not a threat to iPhone.
