How do you test the speed of a website or blog?

The response time of a website or web application is very vital from the usage point of view. Website or blog which has a slow response time will make the user or reader get frustrated. Nobody loves a blog which is very slow and takes a long time to load. Most of the newbie blogger’s or website developers don’t care about this which sometime affects the user turn-around and their blog or site revenue a lot. Even big sites or blog sometimes face this problem. How do you know your site or blog has got slow response time? How good it is going to be if some one is going to tell you about that ?

website speed test Today we are going to talk about one online tool or web application called Website Speed Test from iWeb Tool. The tool has a simple web interface to use. The web application gives you the results with page size, load-time and speed per kb. If the results will be marked in red if the website is too slow or offline and if the results are marked in blue the site is unexpectedly fast. iWeb Tool has lot of other useful tools too like Page Rank checker, Back link checker etc. These applications help you to keep an eye on your blog often and optimize accordingly. Please find the sceenshot of my blog given below. I have a reasonable response time but it is not quite good. I am going to taking it as a case-study and will look for a work around to give a better response time than this relatively to a similar niche blog of mine. The speed of a website or blog depends on various reasons like improper design, junk codes, unnecessary plugins, too large pictures, slow hosting server etc. I am going to write an article very soon, may be later this week to tell what are all the factors that affects the speed of an site.
