How to merge contacts in Gmail?

Merging contacts in Gmail Duplicate contacts in email is a big problem always and I have been facing this in Gmail for a long time and I wanted Google to address this issue one or the other day. The day has come and Google has give options to users to select all the contact details for the contact person to merge. This merging becomes very important after Google introducing Google Sync a tool for iPhone, BlackBerry or for any Windows Mobile devices which syncs your Google Contacts and Calendar to it. So it is better to keep your contacts without duplicates in your Gmail or your Google contacts in your iPhones or any other smart phone before using Google Sync.

All you have to do is go to Google Contacts and select the list of contacts you want to merge and click on the Merge option in the right hand side to merge 2 or multiple contacts. [via the unofficial Google Operating System Blog]
