Microsoft confirms Kumo search engine testing
Microsoft is gearing up to launch Kumo, its new online search service soon and today it has confirmed the testing of its new Internet search engine. Kumo which means cloud or spider in Japanese is said to be the replacement of Microsoft’s Live search. Microsoft has registered the domain kumo.com and is currently being tested internally within Microsoft.
Microsoft will definitely expect kumo search engine to challenge Google and Yahoo search engines providing users with organized search results. Microsoft has been struggling for a long time to catch up business in Internet Search Engine and we have to wait and watch how this re-branding will work out for them. Satya Nadella, head of research at Microsoft’s online services division said, Kumo search results will be a organized in such a way to save time and will have new features including single session history and hover preview etc. He also revealed that an explorer pane on the left side of search results will give users access to tools that help them with other tasks. The images of kumo search with organized results with explorer pane on the left are already leaked in the internet which you can see in the snapshot i have attached. As per the current market, Microsoft is still behind Yahoo and Google and lets see how Kumo will change fortunes for Microsoft.
