Last week on December 10th Microsoft Live Labs came with up a new product called Thumbtack,  a online notebook service to collect, organize and share. One can consider Thumbtack with  other existing and famous note-taking solutions like Google Notebook which is free or the OneNote which is a commercial version.  The one feature I find similar to Google Notebook is the bookmarklet feature.

Thumbtack is completely developed in Ajax and one can expect all that sweet features it provides. The official release of Thumbtack was made in the Live Labs Blog. Thumbtack is an easy way to save links, photos, and anything else you find on the Web in a single place, says Microsoft Live Labs. Thumbtack currently supports supports IE7 and Firefox 3.

There are some features with Thumbtack which sounds lovely and impressed me are

1. One can publish the collections in html, RSS, Atom formats.
2. Published collections can be embedded blog, web pages, etc.
3. Canvas view – a free form view that allows users to create collages out of clippings from the web
4. Thumbtack can automatically extract addresses, and the Address Gadget will then automatically plot that address on a map.

Currently Thumbtack has got no feature to manage videos with the mashups and I hope it will be arriving in soon which makes this tool wonderfully placed in the Internet. Thumbtack is still under improvement and I strongly believe there is still more to come with provision for users to create their own widgets, video sharing etc.
