Almost every browser saves details of user such as visited sites, form details etc in the form of cookies, cache, history and how it is getting saved is independent from browser to browser. Microsoft Internet Explorer is no exception and stores the browsed URLs, recently opened files and Internet search queries in a file called index.dat.
