Virus, Malwares, Worms or Trojans have become common these days as one can find them in softwares, email attachments, scripts from the web, pirated softwares and keygen etc. One has to trust Anti-virus programs mostly to find and delete them but sometimes it doesn’t happen in the way we think and the computer gets infected. No Anti-Virus system is fool proof. Sometimes programmers and users who use pirate programs try to run keygen and others which are 99.9% unsafe and highly untrusted. I have been contemplating with this problem for quite sometime and have come back with few solutions which I have found through Internet.

There are lot of ways to run a untrusted program in Windows. Some of them are

• Sandbox (Sandboxie, Returnil Virtual System)
• Virtualisation (VMware, VirtualBox, Bufferzone)
• Lockdown Technique (Deep Freeze)

I am not goanna discuss everything in this blog post and I will be discussing about Sandboxie and Returnil Virtual System Personal edition. Sandbox is the idea of running untrusted code or software programs inside your RAM creating a virtual workspace without worrying much. The idea of sandbox is even used in Java. For personal use sandbox is the best way to run untrusted programs or softwares as most of the sandbox are free, light weight and don’t have to install an operating system to test. One can also call a Virtual PC created using VMware or VirtualBox as a sandbox with the bigger area to Test which is not required for normal usage.

Sandboxie:

Sandboxie is a light weight program which is free to use as a personal copy runs your programs in an isolated space which prevents them from making permanent changes to other programs and data in your computer. You can run your browser,messengers, torrents, chat clients to keygens inside the sandbox easily all by doing a right click on the program and then choose “Run Sandboxed”

With this wonderful tool you can run any kengen or untrusted programs without any hassle in a protected space on your hard disk. But this software is not developed to encourage piracy and this software is just to keep the users safe online and offline using different softwares.
