Yahoo join hands with Google in Open Social

 

Open SocialYahoo Inc officially confirmed on March 25th that it is gonna join hands with Google in nurturing the social network applications including photo sharing network. Open Social is nothing but set of API’s (Application Programming Interfaces) developed by Google initially, to bring in a common coding standard for web applications so that application works evenly and inter operable across the world wide web. All web applications implementing this framework API’s will be inter operable with social networks like Orkut, MySpace and Friendster.

Now Yahoo joins hand with Google in developing the common set of standards for web. The other inclusions to this Open Social network are Linkedin, hi5. It is expected that Facebook, who strongly encourages developers to code tools specific to Facebook, will join the network soon. Microsoft also stands out at this stage who has invested in Facebook in 2007. It is believed that this Open social framework will bring interoperability and portability to the web applications giving them all a common standard to work with.
